The Grange at La Valette has been completely renovated to provide a luxury two bedroom gite -- with one king-size double and one twin bedroom, two bathrooms and an additional WC. Attractively furnished, the very large living room has plenty of seating, a Satellite TV and Video, a wood burning fire and opens onto a terrace with a BBQ and garden furniture. Central heating is available in the colder months. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, hob and oven and there is also a washing machine.
The large mature garden has plenty of shady areas together with a large private swimming pool and terraces. Ample car parking space is provided and the house is set away from the gite.
The village of Villefranche d'Albigeois has all amenities including an excellent butcher, a small hotel with a good restaurant. However, there are many excellent restaurants in the area and Albi is not far away.
This area of SW France is predominantly farming country and our neighbouring farmer has some 100 head of milking cows. However, there was coal mining in the vicinity and one mine, near Albi, has been restored as a museum to the industry. The Gaillac region produces some excellent wines and the vineyards are well worth a visit. Likewise, the caves of Rocquefort cheese-making is less than one hour to the east.
